McGill-Toolen continued to dominate in Class 7A and stayed No. 1 in this week’s AL.com volleyball rankings.
The Dirty Dozen (18-1) lost on opening night of AHSAA volleyball play, but have won 17 straight since, including two tournaments.
There were no changes among No. 1 teams in the rankings as Class 6A Spanish Fort, Class 5A St. Paul’s, Class 4A St. James, Class 3A Bayside Academy, Class 2A St. Luke’s, Class 1A Addison and AISA Coosa Valley all stayed No. 1.
McGill captured the Juanita Boddie Tournament title on the first weekend of play then traveled to Orlando last weekend to win the KSA Tournament.
The Dirty Dozen will host the first Star Aviation Catholic Cup tournament this weekend, featuring Catholic schools from Georgia and Alabama along with McGill and St. John Paul II. Each of the invited schools finished at least in the semifinal round of their respective division in each state.
