Loyola volleyball sweeps Brenau at home on Friday

Wolf Pack return to First NBC Court tomorrow, Sept. 24, to take on Dalton State at 11:00 a.m.

Entering match two of a three-match home stand, the Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team welcomed Brenau University to First NBC Court for a Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) showdown on Friday evening.

The Wolf Pack kicked off the weekend with a bang: pulling the 3-0 sweep over the Golden Tigers to grab its third conference victory of the season.

Following the win, Loyola improves to 8-12 overall and 3-4 in the SSAC. Conversely, Brenau drops to 3-11 on the year and 1-5 in league action after the loss.

Tylar Beckham (SO/New Orleans, La.) shined under the First NBC Court lights on Friday: collecting a match-high 11 kills to go along with four assists and four blocks. Malea Howie (FR/Greenwood, Ind.) tallied 10 kills without a single attack error on Friday night to end the match with an impressive 0.588 hitting percentage. Maddie Huekels (SO/Dyer, In.) dished out a team-high 11 helpers, while Katie Philippi (SR/Metairie, La.) scooped up a team-best 12 digs off the bench.

Pamela Koken paced the Golden Tigers with eight kills and Carlee Praznick added 11 digs in the loss.
