(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball standout Eva Allen has been named to the 2014 Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Volleyball Second Team the association announced Sunday.
Allen, a junior from Oakland, Calif., drove the Wolf Pack on offense for the 2014 regular season with 387 total kills. She led the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) in total kills, and finished third in the conference in kills per set, averaging 3.4 per game. Her career-high 22 kills came on November 8 when the Pack battled Martin Methodist College.
Allen also guided the Wolf Pack to an upset victory over SSAC opponent Brenau University in the opening round of the conference championships on November 13, where she posted 21 kills. She recorded 20 or more kills four times over the course of the 2014 season. Allen played in all 114 sets this season and has been an offensive weapon for the Wolf Pack since she came to Loyola her freshman year. She received Second Team All-SSAC honors during her sophomore campaign and was selected to the SSAC-All Freshman team during her first year with the Pack.
