Lady Warriors remain winless after loss to Lady Bulldogs

MANILA, Philippines – The National University Lady Bulldogs reached a .500 record for the first time in the women's volleyball tournament of UAAP Season 77 by taking down the still-winless UE Lady Warriors, 25-22, 25-11, 25-17, on Sunday evening, December 7, at The Arena in San Juan City.

Myla Pablo finished with 13 points to lead NU, who also received 10 points from Jaja Santiago and 8 markers from freshman Jorelle Singh, who also registered 5 digs.

National U took advantage of their opponents' miscues all game long, as UE committed 32 errors that led to easy points for the Lady Bulldogs, who only gave up 18 error points.

UE was competitive only in the first set, where they lost by three points. However, NU, now 2-2, took control of the game the rest of the way as they cruised to an easy second straight win.

Leuseht Dawis continued her impressive return to the UAAP with 13 points, while Shaya Adorador put up 10 points for University of the East, now 0-4. Jasmine Alcayde injured her right ankle in the second set and didn't return to the contest.

National U had more attack points, 33-25, more digs, 19-13, and more excellent sets, 24-15.

UE will be back in action on Wednesday, December 10, when they take on the 4-0 Ateneo Lady Eagles. NU, on the other hand, will look to improve to 3-2 against FEU, 2-2, on Saturday, December 13.
