Loyola will enter the 2016 SSAC Volleyball Championships as the seventh seed.
The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team capped off the 2016 regular season today, taking on Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) co-leader Bethel University inside the Crisp Arena.
Despite taking the first set 25-22, the Wolf Pack dropped the next three-straight sets to Wildcats to fall 1-3 (22-25,25-19,25-15,25-14) on the road.
Allison Hartmann (SO/Slidell, La.) led Loyola with 12 kills on 28 attacks, while Maddie Huekels (SO/Dyer, Ind.) tallied a team-high 25 assists and 13 digs to go along with three kills. Sunni Blanchard (FR/Pierre Part, La.) handed out 12 assists on Saturday afternoon and Anna Katherine Brunini (SO/Madison, Miss.) scooped up 12 digs in the loss.
For Bethel, Eloisa Sales notched 26 kills, while Kaylee Ginnings handed out an impressive 56 helpers in the victory.
With the loss, Loyola finishes the 2016 regular season with a 14-21 overall record and an 8-12 mark in SSAC action. With eight conference wins, the Wolf Pack will enter the 2016 SSAC Volleyball Championships as the seventh overall seed.
The championship will take place Nov. 10-12 at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex in Montgomery, Ala. Pool __play will take place on Thursday and Friday, with the semifinals set for Saturday.
