The senior leaves Loyola with two Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar Athlete awards and three SSAC All-Academic nods.

For the second straight season, Loyola University New Orleans volleyball senior Wren Overesch (SR/Austin, Tx.) has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athlete, as announced by the league offices on Friday afternoon.

Majoring in graphic design, Overesch joins 480 other student-athletes from 152 institutions from across the country to make the prestigious list. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Overesch adds this academic accolade to a Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Academic Team nod (her third) she earned earlier this season and her national recognition in 2016 marks the tenth consecutive year that a Loyola volleyball player made the list.

The outside hitter appeared in 21 matches during the 2016 season, recording 46 kills, 14 digs and seven blocks.

In her four years with the Wolf Pack, Overesch has totaled 406 kills on 1350 attempts with 141 digs, 66 blocks and 20 assists in 296 sets played.
